How we handle your information

Skillova is run by the Skillova pilot team. This page says plainly what happens to what you give us.

Your résumé file

Your browser reads the file on your own device. The file is never uploaded. Only the text is sent to make your report.

Making your report

The text of your résumé and your form answers are sent to Anthropic's Claude AI service to draft the report. Anthropic does not use data sent through its commercial API to train its models by default. Our own code then checks the draft against your résumé before you see it.

Where your information goes

• Anthropic, the company behind Claude, processes your résumé text and answers outside Australia to write the report. Anthropic deletes this data within 30 days by default, unless it must keep it longer to enforce its usage rules or comply with the law.
• The website runs on Vercel. Report counts, one-day limits and feedback are stored with Upstash in Sydney.
• We do not sell or share your information with anyone else.

What we keep

• We do not store your résumé, your answers or your report. When you close the page, they are gone. The only exception is the optional anonymous summary described below. We keep it only if you tick the box for it. Save your report as a PDF if you want to keep it.
• We count how many reports are made each month, with no personal details.
• We count visits to each page with Vercel Web Analytics. It uses no cookies and does not identify you. It records the page, the referring site, your browser, device type and approximate location (country and city).
• If you tick "Help improve Skillova", we keep an anonymous summary of your report: the tasks and tools you ticked and how each was rated, your sector, your experience and qualification bands and the roles and gap types in your report. It never includes your résumé text, anything you typed, your job title, location, name, contact details or connection address. We use it only to check and improve our rules. We delete it after two years. The box is unticked unless you tick it.
• We keep a short record of your connection address for one day to stop the service being overused.
• If you send feedback, we keep your answers. We only keep your email address if you choose to share it. If you tick that we may quote you, we may show your answer about the most useful part on the website, with only the name and job title you give.

Course suggestions

Course suggestions only appear if you ask for them. They come from a short list we check on each provider's own website before every semester. A course is only suggested when it matches a specific gap in your report. We are not paid by any provider. Fees, dates and entry rules change, so check with the provider before you enrol.

What a report is and is not

A report is an early decision guide based on your résumé and answers. It is not a hiring prediction, a score or a guarantee. Nothing in it is shared with employers.

Your rights

You can ask to see or delete any feedback you gave us. You can complain to us first. If you are not satisfied, you can then complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner.
